Installing Pellet Stove, Grants and Tax Credits Available To Help Costs Before you go about installing a pellet stove you will need to check with your local authority to check if you can get help towards installation costs. If you are living in the US you could be entitled to tax credits of up to 30% towards the cost of installation, up to the value of $1500. If you are a UK resident then you might also be entitled to a government grant towards the cost of pellet stove installation as the UK government is trying to promote the use of carbon neutral fuels like biomass fuel pellets. You will have to check with your local county council though for exact prices and figures as the same rules do not apply across the country. These are not the only good financial reasons for installing a pellet stove. Another good reason is the increasing costs of traditional heating fuels like gas and oil which have not only increased substantially over the last few years, but which are also set to rise further still in the very near future. |

Pellet Stoves Installations Compared To Traditional Wood Fuel Stoves When It comes to installing a pellet fuel stove compared to installing a traditional wood stove there are significant advantages. Firstly when you are installing a traditional wood stove you will have to have a fully insulated chimney system set up as there are a lot more emissions produced when burning wood waste and log fuel. When you have a pellet fuel stove you will normally only have to have a direct vent or small chimney system fitted which are far cheaper set up's and much easier to install. Another advantage to installing pellet stoves compared to traditional wood stoves are that pellet stoves are controlled by thermostatic control systems, so all that you need to do is fill the attached hopper with pellets once a day or even less in some cases where pellet stoves have larger hoppers and set your desired temperature, then the thermostatic control system feeds the pellets to the burn pot via a screw auger at a particular speed to obtain that temperature. With traditional wood stoves you will constantly need to maintain the stove manually with wood fuel to keep a constant temperature. |

Choosing A Perfect Pellet Stove Installation To Suit Your Heating Needs If you have decided that your are going to install a pellet stove heating system then you will need to make sure you have thought about what style of pellet stove you want and what features to want it to have, as there are many different brands and models that you can buy today. Firstly you will need to decide what pellet fuel you are going to want to burn? Premium wood pellets on their own or a mixture of biomass multi fuel pellets. The advantage to burning premium wood pellets is that that they are a relatively clean burning fuel which emit very little smoke and produce hardly any ash, clinker and slag formations. In fact in most wood pellet stoves you can burn 1 tonne of pellets before you need to empty the ash bin. You will find though that premium wood pellets are quite a lot more expensive compared to multi fuel pellets. You will also need to decide what heat output the pellet stove needs to have, as they can range from anything from 10,000 up to 70,000 BTU's. We have developed the pellet stove and boiler guide to help to give you confidence in answering these questions and more. |
