NEWS : Bosca Soul Wood Pellet Stove Facts and Performance Results The Chile manufacturer Bosca has developed the Soul wood pellet stove. The Bosca is a freestanding pellet stove. The design of the Soul is formed around a semicircle, with a large central viewing window and two smaller windows at the side of the stove. The glass used in the stove is obviously high temperature resistant ceramic glass. The Bosca also comes complete with a decorative firebrick design at the back of the stove. The Soul incorporates a large fuel hopper to hold up to 80lbs of fuel pellets. This is above the industry average for a fuel hopper which is normal around 55lbs. With such a large hopper the Bosca can operate for up to 80 hours on the lowest heat setting. Even on the lowest heat setting, to provide continuous heat for 80 hours is very impressive for a stove. The burn rate of the stove can range from between 1-6lbs of pellets per hour. It is also possible to make precise adjustments to the pellet feed rate. |

The Additional Features and Benefits of The Bosca Soul Pellet Stove The heat output of the Bosca ranges from just over 8000 Btu's per hour up to 47,000 Btu's per hour. The Soul also comes with an easy to clean ash removal system, and also a large ash pan to make ash cleaning a fairly infrequent event. The Soul features self ignition and five heat settings for the stove. The Bosca also has a powerful convection fan to carry heat into the room. The stove will pass heat into the heat exchanger tubes, and then the convection fan will then carry this heat into the room. The Soul also has a air wash system to keep the glass on the stove clean and clear. The efficiency rating of the stove is 80%. Now, an efficiency rating of 80% is rather low for a modern pellet stove, as many of the competition are now around the 90 to 95% mark. Another area where the stove may fall short is its abilities to effectively burn a wide range of fuels. This ability is crucial to give the consumer options when it comes to buying full, and have the option to choose a lower grade cheaper pellet fuel when necessary, however its doubtful if the Bosca Soul can burn other pellets. |

Why Would The Bosca Soul Struggle With Other Types of Pellet Fuel? When it comes to the type of fuel a pellet stove is designed to use, it always starts with premium grade pellet fuel. Premium grade wood pellets are produced from either pine, spruce or oak and contain virtually no bark. Therefore the only sufficient residues of such a material are from timber processing. However this also means the supply of pellet fuel is dependant on sufficient timber processing and ultimately the pellet fuel market will grow beyond the supply of this sawdust, so what then? Cutting down pine trees for fuel is not an option, as this simply inst sustainable. However there is no need, crops such as hemp can easily provide enough biomass to fuel the biomass pellet fuel market, but can your future pellet stove use this fuel. Well no if the design of the pellet stove is similar to the Bosca Soul due to a burn pot design which is extremely limited. To be able to cope with the increased ash content of other grades of pellet fuel, a forced burn pot design is needed, and stoves from Harman and Breckwell currently use them. Learn how to spot these stoves. |
