NEWS : Breckwell P23 Sonora Wood Pellet Stove Performance Details

Breckwell are one of the leaders in the pellet stove market in the US, and along with Harman produce some of the most capable wood pellet stoves. Part of the Breckwell line up is the P23 Sonora. The construction of the stove is through fabricated steel, as apposed to cast iron as with some pellet stoves. As you can see from the image below, the stove is available as either an insert or a stand alone stove on a pedestal or legs. The hopper fuel capacity of the P23 is bang on the industry average of 55lbs, and on the low heat setting the stove can operate for 55 hours. A digital thermostat is installed in the stove to regulate temperature. The heat output of the stove ranges from 8000 up to 45,000 Btu's. The Sonora features a large ash pan which also emphasises the abilities of the Breckwell stove to use higher ash content wood pellets and perhaps biomass pellets. They handle high ash much better than many pellet stove brands.

What Are The Other Features Of The Breckwell P23 Sonora Pellet Stove

The Breckwell P23 features a very quite convection blower which gets a lot of heat into the room. The Sonora also features a glass clean system which can remove any ash build up from the glass, to keep the viewing window clean. The Sonora as you would expect is EPA tested with an efficiency rating of 80%. Now this is not market leading, however it is above the market average, and the stove does make up for it in other areas. The Breckwell stove also comes with a selection of options, including a hand held remote thermostat. Other options include various colour and metal finish options for the door. One of the reasons a Breckwell stove should always be one of your considerations is how fuel flexible their stoves are due to good burn pot and pellet feeder design. In a Breckwell stove, the pellets are force feed into the burn pot, and in tern the ash is forced over the burn pot into the ash draw, this makes it much more efficient at dealing with ash. Harman pellet stoves also share this type of design.

Why Having A Pellet Stove Like A Breckwell Is A Better Investment?

When you are looking to buy a pellet stove, you are looking for a long term investment, really something that will provide you with heat for decades to come. Well, your choice of pellet stove will have a big impact on its life and what type of fuel you can use in it. Wood pellets are the current stable of the pellet fuel market, however over the next few years you will see a much wider market of fuel pellets from agri-pellets made from straw and certain grasses for example. To be able to use these next generation fuel pellets you need a pellet burner which can handle the higher ash content and possible clinkers which may from from the ash. Purchase a pellet stove like a Breckwell is a good choice.
