NEWS : Winslow Wood Pellet Stove Facts and Performance Details The Winslow is a compact stove design built around a large bay window which provides a good view of the fire, as well as letting a lot of light into the room. One of the impressive features of this stove is the size of the fuel hopper. The Winslow can hold up to 60lbs of pellet fuel in the hopper, which is above the industry average, and very impressive for a stove of its size. With a hopper of this size the stove can keep running for several days without the need to re-fuel. Heavy duty steel welded heat exchanger tubes are installed in the stove, and provide good heat capture. The controls on the stove are very simple to understand, and can control all the usual aspects of the stove from pellet feed rate, combustion fan and convection fan speeds. The Winslow also features a large ash pan, which means the stove can operate easily a couple of weeks without the need to empty the ash pan which reduces manual maintenance. |

The Other Features And Abilities Of The Winslow Wood Pellet Stove Many of the burn pots used in most stoves are actually made from stainless steel, however the Winslow has opted for a cast iron burn pot. This is in fact very similar to the Tatano pellet boiler range and has several advantages over stainless steel. Though stainless is obviously resistant to corrosion, with certain biomass fuel pellets the stainless can crack. A cast iron burn pot on the other hand is much more resilient, and though does corrode, the life of the burn pot is far beyond the life of the overall stove. The airburst feature of the Winslow means ash build up is removed to help easy start up. The pellet auger and combustion fan are sealed to provide low noise operations and also require no greasing. The Winslow can heat an area between 900 and 2000 square feet. Using just under 2lbs per hour the stove can achieve a heat output of 15,000 Btu's and using just under 5lbs per hour the stove can achieve a heat output of 40,000 Btu's. All in all the Winslow is a fairly capable stove with good features. |

Helping To Support Your Local Economy With Jobs In The Future Currently the pellet fuel market is pretty predictable, the majority of pellet consumers are using premium grade pellet fuel, and much of this fuel is currently imported. However this need not be the case, as fuel pellets can be produced from a very wide range of biomass materials, and made locally too. Fuel pellets make it possible to be energy independent and also generate a substantial number of local jobs at the same time. Even within cities there is a huge volume of woody waste from tree surgery which could be processed locally for pellet fuel. Outside cities the biomass potential is clear, the potential is simply massive. A huge number of jobs can be created in biomass collection, pellet processing and pellet distribution. However this can only happen if there is sufficient consumer demand, and this is only possible if consumers purchase stoves and boilers which can actually burn the fuel. Not all pellet stoves and boilers can deal with the increase ash percentage due to poor component designs. Therefore the starting point is fuel flexible and capable pellet stoves. |
