Pellet Insert Stove And Tax Breaks and Grants Available For Installation

Pellet insert stoves and free standing pellet stoves are fast becoming a replacement for home heating than the traditional home heating systems that rely on gas and oil. Pellet insert stoves and free standing pellet stoves are fuelled by carbon neutral fuels such as wood, grass and straw. A fuel is termed carbon neutral because whilst it is burnt it only ever produces as much carbon dioxide as it absorbs whilst it is growing. Governments in both the UK and US are trying to encourage people to use carbon neutral fuels and for this reason local authorities and local county councils are implementing grants and tax breaks to help people with pellet stove installations. However you will need to check with your local authority or county council for exact figures. This is not the only financial reason to invest in pellet stove heating as oil and gas prices are set to rise, pellet fuel such as wood, straw and grass stays relatively cheap.

Premium Wood Pellets Compared to Multi Fuel Biomass Pellets

As I stated above there are many different types of pellet fuel such as wood, grass and straw and different qualities. For instance you can purchase basic wood pellets which are made from wood waste or you can purchase premium wood pellets which are manufactured from specific types of wood which then have all the bark removed before been pelletized. This results in a very clean burning fuel which produces little or no smoke and very little ash, clinker and slag formations. These premium wood pellets are however quite a bit more expensive than the basic wood pellets and pellet fuels made from other biomass, so if you don't mind emptying the ash bin a bit more frequently then multi fuel biomass pellet are a more sound investment. If you would like more information on premium wood pellets or multi fuel biomass pellets especially if you are interested in producing your own pellets then we have developed the wood pellet production guide which hopefully should answer any questions.

Choosing The Best Pellet Insert Stove Or Free Standing Pellet Stove

There are many different types of pellet insert stoves and free standing pellet stoves on the market today and deciding which is the best for your heating needs is very important. Firstly you will have to take into consideration what area of space you are trying to heat and what is the maximum BTU (British Thermal Units) you require from the pellet stove or insert. Pellet insert stoves tend to range from 10,000 up to 50,000 BTU's whereas some of the larger free standing pellet stoves can have an output of anywhere up to 70,000 BTU's. Another important fact to take into consideration is what fuel you intend on using. Some pellet inserts and pellet stoves will only burn one type of fuel for instance premium wood pellets if you then tried to burn multi fuel biomass pellets then you would run into problems with breakdowns with the mechanics of the pellet stove or insert. It is therefore far more practical and makes more financial sense to purchase a pellet stove or insert that can burn more than one fuel type then you not reliant on one fuel source which could increase in price.
