Quality Pellet Stoves Are About More Than Simple Their Construction When items are rated on their quality, particularly products such as stoves and boilers, the emphasis is firmly on the the quality of the materials and components used in their construction. And while this is obviously true for pellet stoves, there are other factors which should be reflected in a quality pellet stove. For example with an oil or gas stove, you know that each of these stoves will be burning the exact same grade of fuel. However, this is not the case with pellet stoves. For example, currently practically all pellet stoves on the market today are promoted purely on premium grade wood pellets. However, premium wood pellets are only on potential pellet fuel, but also not every make/brand of premium wood pellet burns the same, and this can create issues for users. |

Quality Pellet Stoves Are About More Than Simple Their Construction The problem comes down to the fact, many pellet stove manufacturers view the production of their products in the same way as a gas or oil stove, where the grade of fuel is known, and is generally always consistent. However, with many of the pellet stove manufacturers designing their stoves to the theoretical qualities of premium grade wood pellets, and in the real world, all premium wood pellets sold differ from the exact standard. For example, as different sources of wood are used in different pellet plants, even following guidelines, there are obviously still going to be differences. The ash content from different batches from the same manufacturer can change, but if the pellet stove is designed to handle a set limit for ash produced, this can create real issues. Basically this will lead the stove to fill with ash, and eventually stop due to faults. |

Quality Pellet Stoves Are About More Than Simple Their Construction The whole point of this discussion, is to point out quality pellet stoves are also stoves which can effectively deal with changes in ash content of pellet fuel. Stove manufacturers have to accept in the real world, there will be changes in the combustion qualities of pellet fuel made in different areas. However, quality pellet stoves also have wider implications, as stated earlier, its not just all about premium grade wood pellets. Fuel pellets can be made from a huge list of potential biomass resources. Now, what makes most sense is to produce pellet fuel locally and burn it locally. This reduces transportation, which has many benefits. It also helps to bring jobs back into local areas where there is no longer industrial jobs. For local production, the best option is to use which ever local resources are available to you, this maybe agricultural waste such as corn cobs for example. This can then be turned into fuel pellets for pellet stoves. |
